The child books had of a bunch of detailed double-sided pages with illustrations showing hundreds or more people doing a bunch of funny at a random location. Kids were challenged to find a character named Waldo which was hidden in the group. Wally’s distinctive red-and-white striped shirt, bobble hat, and glasses make him slightly easier to recognize. But in the illustrations contain “red herrings” involving deceptive use of red-and-white striped objects. Later on in the next books in the series Martin added other targets for readers to find in each illustration.
